Growing for God
Meeting the present and future demands of our church, parish and the wider community in the twenty-first century is the goal of Growing for God.
Since its inception in the late nineteenth century as a group of people meeting in the golf club house on Longridge Road, St Andrew’s has moved constantly forwards, under God’s leading, to meet the needs of a growing and changing congregation and community. From that club house to the church building, begun in 1885, to the 1980 church hall and facilities, to our new kitchen development, we have grown for God.
With a desire to continue growing in the direction in which God is taking us, the St Andrew’s church family and PCC have a vision for upgrading the present facilities. That vision will enable us to reach out more effectively with the good news of Jesus to all ages.
God’s leading has already been demonstrated by the granting of a faculty and of planning permission, and it is now time to turn the vision into reality. Time to make our current church function more effectively, to prepare for growth and to offer improved and extended facilities to our local community....
